Bathroom trends 2011 - Taps
Comment attributable to Nick McGrellis, managing director of Croydex
Bathroom brassware has evolved from being a purely practical, functional purchase to an important part of the overall design of the room and this is set to continue in 2011, as consumers regard the taps they choose for the basin and bath as design pieces in their own right.
Rather than being an afterthought once the sanitaryware has been chosen, consumers in 2011 will be much more likely to choose the two together, in order to achieve a co-coordinated, well-designed look.
While aesthetics are all-important there is a practical aspect to brassware which is set to play a key role next year and beyond and that is water-saving.
Consumers are becoming a lot more aware of environmental issues and also of the money they can save on utility bills by opting for products that help them conserve water in their homes. Brassware that does this without compromising on the overall performance or water flow will be among the best-sellers by the end of next year.
Featuring a multi-functional design, the Arc mono basin mixer from Damixa is available with optional coloured accents in black, red and white and offers infinite spout movement to enable water to reach every corner of the basin. The Arc range also includes a thermostatic shower and a wall-mounted bath shower mixer, all of which can be colour co-ordinated along with the basin tap.
